Our Team

Senior Pastor

Reverend Jeff Hinton

Pastor Jeff grew up in Stillwater, OK with parents Bill and Karen Hinton, and little sister Kimberly. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from the University of Oklahoma in 2011 and received a Master of Divinity degree from Perkins School of Theology at SMU in 2015. He previously served as the Senior Pastor at Wilburton United Methodist Chuch and Okeene United Methodist Church. Jeff was ordained as an Elder in Full Connection in 2019. His biggest passion in ministry is storytelling, whether that shows up in sermons that seek to find the intersections between scripture and the world around us, in bible studies that dig into the story of the relationship between God and God’s people, or in one-on-one interactions where he gets to share in the story of the life of a community. When Jeff was in seminary, He spent three years hosting an open mic storytelling stage which helped him not only to refine his skills as a speaker but to find ways to help draw out stories from a room and see the connections that can be made through that work. "I believe that we are a part of writing the story of the people of God in our community and we grow this through works of discipleship and intentional service to our community."

In Jeff's free time, he loves live music, going to the movies, catching a basketball game, taking long walks with his dog, Drake, and game nights with good friends. Jeff is so excited to be in ministry with all of you in Jones.

Lay leader

Dr. Will Heise

Dr. Will D Heise was born September of 84’ to Dr.’s Don and Sybil Heise DVM in Guymon Oklahoma, of No Man’s Land. He was the last of three extremely active and hyper boys. He was born as a United Methodist and baptized at Victory Memorial UMC as an infant. He grew up in Guymon, active in youth and learning the stories, traditions, and faith of Christianity. Intensely curious, going through the mentorship and confirmation process was awakening for Will. He particularly learned the value of listening to other denominations and even other religions, realizing commonalities in values, even when traditions and practices differ wildly. He tries to continue the practice of active learning to this day, and it has defined his spiritual journey and his growth in Methodist Christianity. Will transitioned to college at Oklahoma State University (go pokes!), Medical School at OUHSC, and Family Medicine Residency at UTHNE. He returned to Jones three years ago with his wife Elyse, native to the region with deep generational roots, and a growing family. Will, Elyse, Dean, and Amelia are active at Jones UMC, and endeavor to build and grow in this rapidly growing community. Driven by God’s love and mercy to all, the Heise family strives to humbly witness to others (both within and outside the church) by guidance and as living examples, to make disciples of Christ for the transformation of the world.
