Can you believe it’s August? Seems like summer has flown by. Lots of people take vacations in the summer while their kids are out of school. I’ve seen some awesome vacation pictures posted by friends and family. Occasional thoughts of I wish I could be on that mountain or playing on that beach have filtered through my mind. Often what other people are doing seems so much more exciting than what I am doing.
The grass is always greener right?
I know some of those same friends have also had devastating situations occur in life this month too. Deaths in the family, illness, heart aches that are crushing, and the list goes on. I’m not as willing to wish for the bad moments as I am for the good moments.
God says the rain falls on the just and unjust alike. Rain can be a gentle shower or a frightening down pour that floods our lives. God also promises His grace is sufficient for all our needs! Whether we are on the mountain top or in the muddy river, God promises to be there with us. That is powerful knowledge to remember all the time! As a church, we also have each other. What a blessing! Let’s give thanks to God for
the strong and vital church we have in Jones. See you in church!
2 Corinthians 12:9
And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.
Heavenly Father, thank you for always protecting, encouraging, and teaching us to be the person you have designed us to be. We are made perfect in you. Prepare our hearts for your greater purpose. Amen.
